The ‘Electroknit’ project uses the tutorial from adafruit.com which shows you how to ‘hack’ into an electronic knitting machine using a bit of simple programming.

T Richard Stallman in his article on hacking describes it as a :  “Means of exploring the limits of what is possible, in a spirit of playful cleverness. Activities that display playful cleverness have “hack value”.  (Stallman, http://stallman.org/articles/on-hacking.html,)

I’ve only been able to produce this work by using online resources such as Youtube and Github that have been made available by hackers and programmers such as Lady Ada, Knittington and Img2track.
